Electrolux #splits: Margaritaville Banana Split

Bananas $1.99, ice cream $6.00, cherry on top $1.00....a cure for ovarian cancer -priceless.

The foodie site I belong to -Foodbuzz - recently helped Electrolux and Kelly Ripa raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. If you didn't know Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers in the United States and is the fifth leading cause of cancer death among U.S. women.
Electrolux and Kelly Ripa support the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund whose mission is to fund research to find a method of early detection and ultimately a cure for Ovarian Cancer. Electrolux has committed to donate $750,000 to this worthy cause. And now Foodbuzz has agreed to donate $50 for every Banana Split post that a Foodbuzz featured publisher posts by  noon Friday!

So this is my little effort to spread the word and get $50 donated ! You can also go to Kelly's Banana Split site and build a virtual banana split  and each day you do, Electrolux will donate $1 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund plus you get the chance to win some really cool prizes ! So check it out and go build that banana split now !  Wait don't leave so quickly, first  read about my Margaritaville banana split Ala Jimmy Buffet !

I just happened to see Jimmy Buffet's Save the Gulf Concert on CMT the same day I got the email regarding this banana split challenge.  And being a major Jimmy Buffet fan I decided to combine my love of his music with my love of ice cream and all for a great cause.  So sit back with your margarita while I prepare my Margaritaville Banana Split !
Ingredients:
1 quart each of Haagen Dazs:
-Passion Fruit
-Mango
-Pineapple Coconut
-Green Tea
2 bananas
Whipped cream
Chopped macadamia nuts
Smucker's Pineapple Topping
And the cherries on top !
Byron Bay Lemon & Macadamia Nut Butter Cookies (use a few for props eat the rest because they are scrumptious ! ) I bought these because I love the packaging and on the side was this little verse:
"The good old days when life was simple.  Where friendship, laughter and a soft ocean breeze filled our hearts with joy as we played leap frog on the shores of Byron Bay."  How sweet is that and the cookies are even sweeter.

I'm not going to give you directions on how to build a banana split silly-you know how to do that already and besides banana splits are so playful any way you build one will be perfection !  And something I learned while doing this challenge is that the banana split was invented by a pharmacist in Latrobe,PA- just up the road from where I grew up-another reason to love them !
